I love to cook but find myself constantly using cooking spray in my pans to prevent my food from sticking. I also use cooking spray in my plastic containers when storing tomato sauce or anything tomato-based (spraying containers with cooking spray helps prevent them from turning color from the tomatoes).
I recently learned about a simple, healthy, and inexpensive way to make my own cooking spray. All you need is the following:
- 1 spray bottle (the kind that mists)
- 1 part oil (I use olive oil)
- 5 parts water (this helps make the oil less thick and therefore easier to spray)
Combine everything in the spray bottle, shake well, and that’s it! Be sure to label the spray bottle so it doesn’t get mixed up with soap or anything else in your home.
